Property Development

Many Members strongly advocate for the construction of the proposed outdoor recreation area for several compelling reasons:
  • Addressing a Unique Disadvantage: Currently, we stand out as one of the few clubs/bars in the vicinity lacking an outdoor amenity, placing us at a potential disadvantage compared to establishments offering such spaces.
  • Creating a Versatile Multi-Use Space: This development promises a flexible area capable of hosting a variety of activities, including private parties and rentals, thereby generating additional revenue streams.
  • Enhancing Member Experience: The outdoor area will provide a valuable space for members to relax and socialize while enjoying adult beverages in an open-air setting.
  • Boosting Business through Cornhole League: We anticipate significant benefits from hosting a 22-team cornhole league throughout the summer. This will attract a consistent influx of visitors, directly contributing to increased business.
  • Minimal Impact on Parking: The proposed construction will only slightly affect the existing parking area, minimizing any potential inconvenience to members and guests.
  • Attracting a Younger Demographic: This modern amenity is highly appealing to younger members, which is crucial for the long-term growth and sustainability of our organization.
Although we requested bids from numerous sources and four additional contractors examined the work involved, only a single bid was submitted, priced at $58,000 plus.
In conclusion, the development of this outdoor recreation area presents a significant opportunity to enhance our facilities, attract new members, boost revenue, and better serve our existing community. We urge its approval.
If you have questions or concerns, contact IM them to the club Facebook page or the website contact form.

Cannabis Use is Prohibited at the Eagles

From the Maryland Cannabis Administration:
Cannabis (and hemp) smoking is prohibited in any public place or in any motor vehicle. A public place includes outdoor spaces and indoor spaces open to the public, including parks, streets and sidewalks, bars and restaurants, public transportation (e.g., buses, van, trains, taxicabs, limousines) and indoor places of employment. Because cannabis remains illegal at the federal level, you also may not possess cannabis on any federal property such as a national park.

So I didn't get my dues paid by May 31st, what can I do?

Well for now you are a member not in good standing!
  • Members "not in good standing" can not participate or collect on Queen of Hearts, Monthly Signup, Daily Signup or Sunday Signup
  • as per Section 71.9 of the Grand Aerie Articles of Incorporation Constitution and Statutes:
  • A member whose dues are not paid in advance, as herein provided, shall be non-beneficial for all purposes, and shall not be permitted to hold or remain in office, to attend meetings, or social rooms of the Aerie, or to make use of any of its facilities, or to receive any sick or funeral benefits or to receive.....
  • Last year the Grand Aerie changed the grace period to 30 days past (June 30). If you are in the Grace Period - you are "not in good standing".
What does this mean to you: get your dues paid ASAP or at least prior to the grace period expiring  to avoid the re-enrollment fees!
  • If dues are paid during the grace period the member would not have to re-enroll ($10 fee for Aerie and $15 fee for Auxiliary) and would immediately become a member in good standing!
  • There may be instances of Grand Aerie generated DUE NOTICES being received after dues have been paid - relax you're good. The notices are coming from the Grand Aerie and their system is slow to respond to paid member updates.

We miss you already!
Please renew to remain a part of the Greatest Fraternal Organization in America!!
