UPMC Western MarylandSchwab Family Cancer Center - Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Program

The Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary of Cresaptown has been a long time supporter of the UPMC Western MarylandSchwab Family Cancer Center.  Kathy Hare, Past President and current Trustee of the Auxiliary, is a survivor of B-Cell Lymphoma and has organized several fundraisers to benefit the Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Program at the Center.  The funds were raised during the terms of Presidents Carolyn Helmstetter and Debbie Powell, with the participation of the Aerie and Auxiliary membership.  Hare announced the gift is given in loving memory of Fran Castle, Past Auxiliary President and President of the Maryland State Auxiliary.  Fran lost her courageous battle with breast cancer on August 18, 2020.  In the picture, left to right, a check for $5,000 was presented by Helmstetter, Powell and Hare, to Lisa Hout, Sr. Development Officer, WMHS Foundation and Julie Thomas, Administrative Supervisor of the Cancer Center.

So I didn't get my dues paid by May 31st, what can I do?

Well for now you are a member not in good standing!
  • Members "not in good standing" can not participate or collect on Queen of Hearts, Monthly Signup, Daily Signup or Sunday Signup
  • as per Section 71.9 of the Grand Aerie Articles of Incorporation Constitution and Statutes:
  • A member whose dues are not paid in advance, as herein provided, shall be non-beneficial for all purposes, and shall not be permitted to hold or remain in office, to attend meetings, or social rooms of the Aerie, or to make use of any of its facilities, or to receive any sick or funeral benefits or to receive the services of the Aerie Physician.
  • Last year the Grand Aerie changed the grace period to 30 days past (June 30). If you are in the Grace Period - you are "not in good standing.
What does this mean to you: get your dues paid ASAP or at least prior to the grace period expiring  to avoid the re-enrollment fees!
  • If dues are paid during the grace period the member would not have to re-enroll ($10 fee for Aerie and $15 fee for Auxiliary) and would immediately become a member in good standing!

We miss you already!
Please renew to remain a part of the Greatest Fraternal Organization in America!!
